Seeing your child struggle with emotions, feelings and changes is difficult. However, what can be just as difficult is knowing when to advocate for them, how far to push, and whether it is something you need to keep on with.
 
Maybe it's the time of year, maybe it's something else, but our eldest is definitely more anxious than normal. Today I talk about ways in which I'm educating her and advocating for her at school to help her manage her anxiety.
 
Not only that, but also how it is something that I need to work on with regards to my own trust and anxiety.

Christmas is fast approaching, and what better time to practise being present. Yes that's present as in in the moment!
 
Today, I'm talking about the steps we are taking as a family to making this Christmas a pre mindful, and relaxed one. I talk about a few more things that I am doing to try to be more present myself this Christmas, and also, what we are doing to try to teach the kids to be more present at Christmas.

It is tantrum and separation anxiety central here at the moment!
Littlest Miss is missing the bigguns and worrying we'll abandon her too. How did I figure this out? How am I keeping myself in check, whilst dealing with one of the most frustrating stages? Will this 'phase' ever end?

I have been on a long journey, with many ups and downs, in my years of meditating. Over these years, meditation has taught me many things. So many in fact, that when I started writing my list I struggled to stop. So this episode highlights the five, in my opinion, most important things I have learnt through meditation.

This week I'm touching on a sensitive subject. The News.
 
I have had a lot of conversations with people in recent weeks where they are struggling with news from around the world, and also struggling with the feelings of guilt and selfishness that they are not engaging with it.
 
Whilst unfortunately, not everyone is lucky enough to be able to just switch off to the news, today I tackle why it is OK if you are and why it is ok to let go of feelings of guilt and selfishness associated with doing so.

I'm feeling slightly more vulnerable than normal sharing this weeks podcast with you. I had a panic attack earlier in the week. However, unlike previous times that I have felt like this I was able to label what was going on and do something about it.
 
This has come with lots of meditation practise. Whilst daily I can notice how I am feeling and turn it around, this was the first time I have really really been present with myself in a state of such heightened emotions.
 
So join me as I share what this feels like for me, how I noticed and what I did about it as well as why this has further strengthened to me why what I teach to children and those that support them is so important.

Hi, I'm Lucie, a Family Meditation Coach, and mum to 3 and a dog. Follow me and my family's journey to becoming a more mindful family.

Using a variety of meditation and mindfulness techniques I have been helping each member of our family to create their own mental health toolkit since Covid-19 took hold in 2020. 

Now, a few years later the full effects of this are starting to show and it has brought our family closer, and allowed me to reconnect with myself more fully for the first time since becoming a parent.
